My foot - Last Sunday, minutes from leaving the house for an aunt's birthday party, I slipped on our basement stairs and twisted my foot (not my ankle, my foot). Cousin was able to provide crutches and compression wrap within an hour. After several days of RICE (rest, ice, compression, and elevation), I'm quite happy to say that my foot is on the mend. Swelling is nearly completely gone. Preliminary 5-minute test drives show I can walk without pain, though the particular angle required when going down stairs makes my foot tired and sore. But I'm getting better and should return to full foot health. The bruises (and OH... there are bruises) are even starting to fade. For once in my life, I'm trying to not push myself too hard. Hopefully next week I'll be walking on it full-time again. If I'm very good, maybe I'll be able to go for some very short runs in a couple of weeks.

My work - I uncovered a major gap in coverage in company X's educational database last night. I scoped out the problem, wrote a quick email about how I was going to start fixing it and oh, by the way, it will impact coverage across all 50-states, not just this one instance I found. The email back made me quite happy. I'm awesome for finding it and just assuming the task of fixing it. It feels fabulous to be in the right place with the right supervisors.

My exchange story - is plotted, except for a few details, and awesome!betas had excellent feedback. Just a few tweaks and it's good. I'm loving the plot now and looking forward to writing the rest whenever I can squish it in.

Mr. PJ - has taken EXCELLENT care of me this week. All my meals have been delivered directly to the recliner. He went grocery shopping for healthy snack foods on Wednesday night. He's frowned at me when I've cheated and walked instead of hopping or using crutches.

Spring - The city of Cincinnati will herald the beginning of spring with Bockfest this weekend. Double-Bock beer, polka music, and sausage!!!!! The food offerings are usually kind of hit or miss. But there is PLENTY of tasty, dark beer to be consumed. *crosses fingers for potato pancakes*

Sorry about the foot, but in general this all sounds good. I'm glad.

The foot has made me VERY thankful of my general good health. And I'm really glad I didn't break it. (that I can tell, anyway)

Poor you! I feel with you, for I twisted my ankle yesterday.
I'm still on RICE treatment.

Ack! The RICE treatment gets very old after about 5 hours.

Oh, that reminds me... haven't taken anti-inflammatories today...

It's getting better. I think it's very nearly healed. Now I just have to be patient for a couple more days so I don't aggravate it before it's all better.

The rest is very good. And the foot just makes me really thankful that most of the time, I don't feel like I got run over by a car.

If that makes sense.

The foot thing sucks, but it sounds like everything else is good. I am working on exchange and sewing machines and god knows what is next.

The foot is a downer, but it's getting better. Much, much better.

And it needs to. I've got some fabric to cut out that I've been putting off until I can stand again.

Looks like things are looking up! Keep up the RICE and don't polka too hard! (Sticking to the beer sounds much more rewarding... Mmmm... beer.)

Well, bummer! Sorry to hear about your foot. People laugh at me, but this is why I keep those crutches from my brother's ankle surgery ages ago. You just never know! Hopefully the Bockfest will help you forget about the pain in your foot.

The crutches were invaluable. Seriously.

Bockfest was a wonderful break.

Speaking of breaks, give me a shout. I need some fangirl time!

The foot has been obnoxious, but I can see the end, and once it's better, I will be VERY thankful for my general good health.
