Killer bagels

I ought to have dug up the camera before I served my baked goods. As it was, I had to rely on my friend's iphone – thus the, erm, interesting composition.
The picture really doesn't do justice to how awesome the bagels were. I used the recipe from the King Arthur Flour website (with step-by-step instructions on their baking blog). They were so delicious. Nothing like store bought bagels. I made a dozen total, split evenly between plain, chocolate chip, cinnamon raisin, and cinnamon-sugar topped.
Yes, the bagels were tasty, but they were NOTHING compared to the Artisan Bread. My pictures absolutely don't do the bread justice. I'll leave that up to the web site where I found the recipe. I hereby demand you go there. This is the easiest bread in the world, and it tastes incredibly. The batch of starter took maybe eight minutes, and that's only because I read the directions super-carefully. Prepping a loaf for baking takes less than five minutes. Go now. Bake.
