Greetings and such

First off happy birthday to tinytexans ! Others have shared drabbles, cakes, and fancy images. I bear the gift of information. :)

I was inspired by dressagegrrrl  and her fancy kindle device to track down a Text-to-Audio web page reader. Originally, this was just a lazy shortcut, as I usually read my own chapters aloud before I ship them off to kittylefish. Run/Walk/Apparate over to the Firefox plug-in page and download FoxVox. There are some definite quirks to the program. Obviously, it's automated, so occasionally the voice bungles things. Be forewarned that Hermione is pronounced "Hermy-Own" and that, just like its cousin kindle, "Mmmmmmm" gets pronounced "M. M. M. M. M. M."  "Hmmm" gets pronounced "H. M. M. M."  But overall the voice (default is a British male!) performs quite well.

Seriously, this little gadget has meant I've actually been able to read listen to fan fiction again. And it is remarkable how much more enjoyable folding laundry, cleaning out closets, and ironing can be whilst listening to a good fic. Hell, dusting might even be enjoyable with a BAD fic.
