How to Make a GingerSnape.

First off, I hope ya'll enjoyed your Gingersnapes. It's been a blast making them, and I'm super anxious to hear how you liked them. :) I've been passing them out randomly at the con (I'm really hoping to happen upon a flock of Snarry shippers tomorrow). And have some classic photes of Droxy!Snape NOT RESPONDING WELL to Gingersnapes. :) I can't get the photos off the memory card yet, but they''ll certainly be up. *giggle*

So, you've read the story by [livejournal.com profile] voxangelus  now. The inspiration for it was described here. (and if you've not read the story yet, go here or here)

Here's, quickly (before i pass out), how the cookies happened.

First, I asked [profile] anonymous_plume  to do an outline of pregger Snape for me. She is brilliant and delivered this:

She also gave me a cauldron (which you guys have, but con-goers don't. No playing Snape and cauldron for these folks!). Then I just printed out the graphics and used window weatherstripping (the metal kind with the little rubbery insert). I bent the weather stripping into the shape of the outine. The gave me some nice cookie cutters with sharp edges. The downside is they don't form a fully connected figure which can be a little futzy.

From there, it was a matter of sampling recipes. I setted on this one for Gingersnaps. Then it was a matter of rolling out dough and cutting out the shapes. And eating! Lots of Snapey eating!

The accidentally made Pregnant-Outie (and apparently unrepeatable) Snape went to [livejournal.com profile] sc010f .

Stacked up Snapes make JengaSnapes

And last, my favorite Snape out of all of them.

Gingersnapes shall also be making an appearance at [livejournal.com profile] zibit_con_09 .

Why thank you! So glad you enjoyed them!!!!!!

I snorted when I read "JengaSnapes." ROFL

My goodness - you are too, too funny, and now I'm REALLY bemoaning the fact I won't get to meet you in person. What a fantastic surprise this was when I received the package this morning. So very delightful ... and utterly delicious! I was going to save them for tea tonight, but then the smell tempted me too much and I had to eat a cauldron.

And ZOMG the Snapes are just TOO perfect. I was so happy that I followed your bossy britches instructions and read the story first. It made opening up the cookies and seeing the design that much more fun. My 4-year-old kept asking me what I was laughing at. But really ... how can one explain such a thing?! I am astounded by how much detail the cookies have: the belly! The NOSE! The boots! And they kept their shape so well! The recipe you chose must have been perfect. I'm stealing it for Christmas - I'm so sick of my Christmas cookies looking gorgeous when I put them in the oven but coming out like blobs of baked poo. (Eeieew.)

BTW, is it wrong to talk to/lick the cookies before eating them? :-)

Cannot wait to see the picspam (just imagining Droxy!Snape's expression made me grin!). Keep having a fabulous time!!! Please give squnches to Mary and Claudia (plus Shaf, Sara, and Avi if you see them) for me!!!

It is certainly not wrong to talk to/pose/lick them. BTW, I had to roll the dough reaaaally thin to get them to work. The original gingerbread recipe tasted like crap but held the shape much better. There's lots of fat reject Snapes still sitting in my kitchen. :)

Ended up losing my camera, so I fear the Droxy!Snape and Gingersnape photos may be lost forever. :( She was kind enough to apologize for crucioing me the next day. :)

LOL! This was awesome, PJ. Thank you so much for the gingersnapes, *snicker*. Hubby let me open the package when I got home. needless to say, he keeps looking atme like I have grown another head. I'm not even gonna bother telling him what the other cookie is, but he did eat a cauldron, LOL.

I am missing everyone. And I know you are having fun. I am looking forward to the picspam. Oh, and Hogwarts_91's comment about talking to/licking the snapes is hilarious. =o)
ROFL!

oh, yes, before I forget, the cookies are delish. Now I need to brew a pot of coconut rum cake flavored coffee. That sounds like the perfect coupling. Mmmmm.

You are very, very welcome, Stef. I was on pins and needles Saturday morning waiting for people to get them. :)

1. 20 points to your house.
2. Me tooo!!!!! Even more so now. Did you see the link to the recipe?
3. You certainly shouldn't share them. Nope. Though the cauldrons were the 'kid-friendly' inclusion.

*hugs*
