The Great Flood aka Armageddon

This is shaping up to be an... interesting trip.

Mr. PJ is sick.

Gomez woke me up three times during the night with emergency pottying... Twice in absolutely pouring rain. I am grateful again for the ankle brace. My boot would have been completely waterlogged.

And the city is flooded. Here's a picture of one of the interstates (they all have closures at this point). Here's a photo of one of them... where cars are FLOATING.

ETA: Also, now poor Gomez has sicked up.

And rest of post renders any of my complaints entirely petty.

I am happy to hear that my brother is safe and sound home from work.

Updated views of this interstate exchange here

An updated photo.

More pictures under the cut

I watched a mobile unit from a local school floating down the interstate. No pictures yet. It disintegrated within minutes.

Mobile home photo (thanks Mr. PJ!)

And here's a video of what happened to it

This barrier won't be holding much longer...

I am terrified for these emergency workers...

And they've taken the camera down... not a good sign

One death reported so far at I-24 and Bell Road (above pics).

I was laying off the LJ today, but had to pop on to see if you were water logged or not! I hope you're alright! Sounds like it's turned out to be an exciting trip!!!

Stay dry!!! *snort* Right.

We're fine, but we're sandwiched in between a few areas that were flooded. It's pretty scary knowing that the floodwaters are 5, 1, and 3 miles away....

But really, we should be fine.

How's your family in Mount Juliet?
