We've been waging battle against a clogged sink, and I desperately hope that our last skirmish ends the war. I could take the sink apart in my sleep now, and both Mr. Pants (trying that name on to see if it sticks) and I have each snaked the drain multiple times. In hopes of avoiding a call to the plumber, we visited a hardware store today that my dad recommended. They sold us sulphuric acid, which we promptly poured down the drain. Initially, it did not smell at all. But after we waited and flushed a bit of water down the drain (where it SAT... for a LONG time), eventually the sink burped. Now it reeks to high hell. Mr. Pants and I are holed up in the bedroom trying to avoid the worst of the fumes.
